The film features a handful of celebrities such as Rosie Perez, Judd Apatow, and Jim Jarmusch. A lot of artistic New York folk are sprinkled in there too. Jay Z raps the same lyrics over and over at them, while they sit and stare awkwardly. It's definitely different, but is it entertaining? The film also features Jay Z talking about hip hop, what it means to him, his feelings, etc.
Do you think this is a good example of two different arts coming together to make a new, exciting art form or is this just a failed attempt on Jay Z's part to seem deeper than he really is? Do you find the film to be great, or is it too boring? I'll admit, I was entertained for the first half but my enjoyment plunged near the end. Do I just not "get" it? What's wrong with me?! What's wrong with Jay Z?! What's happening?! Where am I?! Okay sorry I'm done. Watch the video now:
